Harvard-educated, with over ten years of experience. I build and operate systems I can account for top to bottom, from a multi-user declarative NixOS a handful of us run to the sandboxing that lets it host untrusted code without handing over the keys.
Most of my work is infrastructure I mean to keep: the operating system a handful of us run, the tools that deploy and secure it, and the write-ups that explain why each piece is built the way it is.
I care about owning a system end to end, so that when something breaks or has to be trusted, the answer sits in the tree rather than in a vendor's word for it.
